Dr Peter Hill: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr Peter Hill began dental training in Otago University in 1985. After developing an interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) as an Oral Surgery Resident in Hobart, Peter went on to train in the specialty in Melbourne and Auckland. Having attained Medical and Masters’ degrees at the University of Melbourne Peter received the ANZAOMS medal as the top OMS trainee in the RACDS final fellowship examinations. He has worked in public and private practice as a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Auckland since 2002. Peter is now in full-time private practice in Takapuna and is a credentialed surgeon at North Harbour Southern Cross Hospital in Glenfield for patients requiring general anaesthesia for treatment.
Dr Hamish Cameron: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Hamish attended the University of Otago, graduating in 2003 BDS with Credit. He completed a year as a Dental House Officer in Dunedin before joining Defence. In the Regular Force Hamish was commissioned to Captain, serving at Devonport, Waiouru and Whenuapai for almost 4 years as a Dental Officer. In 2009 Hamish returned to Dunedin to undertake the conjoint MDS/MB ChB programme. During these five years he trained in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and completed medicine, graduating in 2013 MDS with Distinction, MB ChB. Hamish completed his research thesis on “Prophylactic Third Molar Removal in NZDF Personnel” and has a particular interest in third molars and soft tissue lesions.
His first medical post was in Hawkes Bay as a House Officer completing runs in Cardiology, General and Vascular Surgery, Orthopaedics and General Medicine, then relocating to Auckland in 2015 doing General Medicine, Emergency and General Surgery runs while maintaining a healthy medical and oral surgery split.
As an Oral Surgeon Hamish provides exodontia services from simple extractions to impacted third molar removal and full clearances, biopsies and removal of lesions, pre-prosthetic grafting procedures, tori removal, dental implant therapy and apicectomies.
His interests outside work include skiing (having visited Canada, USA and Japan), running, scuba diving, travel and ethnic food. Hamish can actually tie a proper Windsor Knot!
Dr Rakesh Jattan: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

My name is Rakesh Jattan and I am a NZ dual trained, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon setting up a specialist oral surgery group practice in the South East Auckland Area.
I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Otago in 2000, and then my Bachelor of Medicine and Master’s in Dental Surgery in 2009. I gained my specialist fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (OMS) in 2014 before heading to the UK for 3 years to complete my fellowship in Orthognathic surgery and Head and Neck Oncology. I have now returned to NZ and also currently work as a Maxillofacial Consultant at Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals.
Ti Rakau OMS (TROMS) is a brand new specialist oral surgery practice located within the new Pakuranga Medical Centre on 11 Cortina Pace, Pakuranga. It is a purpose built facility which houses the newly amalgamated Pakuranga Medical GP practice, Unichem Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Mercy Radiology, Café and more.
TROMS specialises in all forms of Oral Surgery including wisdom teeth, difficult extractions, dental implants (including bone grafting and sinus lifts), apicectomies, orthognathic surgery, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, preprosthetic surgery and all forms of dental and oral pathology. We have a cone beam CT scan for high definition 3D scanning and also provide our surgical services under high quality intravenous sedation. I also have a regular operating list out of Ormiston Hospital for cases requiring general anaesthetic. I am an affiliated provider with Southern Cross and also ACC registered provider.
Dr Jacqueline Pahl: Endodontist
BDS (Otago) with Credit, MDSc (Melb) Endodontist
Jacqueline graduated BDS from Otago University in 1988. Having spent time as a general dentist both in New Zealand and England, she completed a master’s degree in Endodontics from the University of Melbourne in 1995.
Jacqueline gained specialist registration in Australia in 1995 and worked in Australia as an endodontist in Geelong and as an Endodontic Registrar at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital in addition to teaching undergraduate students at Melbourne University.
After returning to New Zealand in 1999, Jacqueline has been based on Auckland’s North Shore in private specialist practice.

Dr Jo Ann Pahl: Intravenous Conscious Sedation
MBChB (Otago), F.A.N.Z.C.A
Following graduation from Otago Medical School in Dunedin and Wellington, Jo Ann trained in Anaesthesia in Waikato and Christchurch. She gained her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Anaesthetists in 2000. From here Jo Ann worked as a Fellow in Western Australia and Consultant Anaesthetist at St John’s Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland. She returned to Auckland in 2007 and developed a special interest in Travel Medicine. She now restricts her practice to delivery of intravenous sedation for patients requiring oral surgery and is a most important and valuable member of the team.
Dr Azlan Daud: Dentist – Practice Limited to Endodontics
BDS (Singapore), MSc (Endo) (London) Practice limited to Endodontics
Dr Azlan Daud graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993. Following the completion of his dental degree, Dr Daud was enlisted in the Singapore Armed Forces as a Battalion Dental Officer. In the year 2000, he pursued a post-graduate degree in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute of Healthcare Sciences, University College London. At UCL, he was involved in research focusing on endodontic pathogens associated with root canal failures. He graduated in 2002 with a Distinction in Clinical Endodontics and was awarded the Distinction Award in Endodontic Microbiology Research.
Upon his return from London, he was enlisted to the Military Medicine Academy (Singapore). He was also recruited as a part-time lecturer with the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore.
In 2005, Dr. Daud migrated to New Zealand where he currently runs a practice limited to endodontics in Christchurch.
Outside of dentistry, he practices the martial art of Aikido and trains internationally. Locally he teaches Aikido in Auckland and Christchurch.
