Temporomandibular Joint
Temporomandibular joint
The temporomandibular joint dislocates out of its socket every time you open and close your mouth. As a result, the tissues within the joint can lose their correct alignment and joints can become painful or noisy. Common presentations for patients with TMJ problems include clicking, locking and grinding. Investigations to determine the underlying problem can include x-rays, cone beam CT and MRI scanning. Treatments offered range from simple bite splint therapy to surgical interventions.
