Tooth Extraction

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are often asked to remove teeth that your dentist is unable to repair.

Often these teeth require surgical removal. This requires the teeth to be separated with a drill, which is why a specialist referral is necessary in order to visit one of our three dental practices in Takapuna, Pakuranga or Queenstown.

Tooth extraction procedures are commonly done under intravenous sedation. After the tooth has been removed, tooth sockets are usually closed with dissolving stitches (sutures) and mild painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen will need to be taken for a few days.
